[ DOT ADMINISTRATIVE ORDER NO. 91-15 SERIES OF 1991, September 02, 1991 ]

GUIDELINES FOR TOUR GUIDE LICENSE APPLICANTS



Pursuant to the authority vested in the Department of Tourism under Executive Order No. 120, P.D. 1463 and other related rules and regulations, all licensed, practicing tour guides and applicants for issuance of a tour guide license are hereby enjoined to observe the following guidelines:

I

All Licensed Guides Who Were Unable
to Get an Assignment for at Least
One Year but not Over Two Years


1.  Shall attend a REFRESHER SEMINAR COURSE I — Practical Guiding Techniques — to be conducted by the Department of Tourism or by an association/entity duly authorized by the DOT to conduct the seminar;

All Tour Guides Who have
Been Inactive for a Period of More That
Two Years but Not Over Four Years

2.  Shall enroll in a REFRESHER SEMINAR COURSE II — General and Practical Knowledge — to be conducted by the Department of Tourism or by an association/entity duly authorized by the DOT to conduct the seminar.  Participants must achieve a pre-determined grade requirement. Non-attainment shall result in non-issuance of license;

All Tour Guides Who Have
Been Inactive For More Than Four Years

3.  Shall enroll in a REGULAR TOUR GUIDE SEMINAR to be conducted by the Department of Tourism or by an association/entity duly authorized by the DOT to conduct the seminar.  Participants must achieve a pre-determined grade requirement.  Non-attainment shall result in non-issuance of license;

New Applicants

4.  Shall enroll in a REGULAR TOUR GUIDE SEMINAR to be conducted by the Department of Tourism or by an association/entity duly authorized by the DOT to conduct the seminar.  Participants must achieve a pre-determined grade requirement.  Non-attainment shall result in non-issuance of license.

Applicants shall be:
  1. College graduate (For non-Filipino applicants, the requirement shall be based on the educational system in the country of origin).

  2. Proficient in English

  3. Proficient in another foreign language

  4. Of good moral character
This Order repeals Administrative Order No. 5, Series of 1989 and shall take effect immediately and shall remain valid unless sooner revoked.
