ADDITIONAL NOTES REGARDING ENSEMBLES & CLASSIFICATION OF CERTAIN TEXTILE PRODUCTS



Given below is a list of additional notes pertaining to ensembles as well as classification of certain textile products intended to cover upper part of the body, as per advise of the Commission of European Communities dated 24 April 1990 .

Please be guided accordingly.

  Classification of Textile Prod ucts in the Textile Categories.

A. The following additional note is added to chapter 61.

1. For the application of note 3(b) of this Chapter the components of an ensemble must be made up entirely in a single identical fabric, subject to compliance with the other conditions laid down in the said note.

For this purpose the fabric used can be unbleached, bleached, dyed, of yarns of different colours or printed.

Sets of garments are not regarded as ensembles when their components are made up in different fabrics, even if the difference is due only to their respective colours.

The present additional note 1 to Chapter 61 is renumbered 2.

B. The following additional note is introduced in Chapter 62.

1. For the application of note 3 b) of this Chapter the components of an ensemble must be made up entirely in a single identical fabric, subject to compliance with the other conditions laid down in the said note.

For this purpose the fabric used can be unbleached, bleached, dyed, of yarns of differ ent colours or printed.

Sets of garments are not regarded as ensembles when their components are made up in different fabrics, even if the difference is due only to their respective colours.

2.   Lightweight woven garment (100% cotton) with very short sleeves, intended to cover the upper part of the body reaching down to below the waist, of a fancy design and is manufactured from a single coloured fabric. It has a rounded neckline with a partial opening on the left shoulder which is closed with a button fastening (see photograph no. 409) (*)

3.   Lightweight woven garment  (100% cotton) with very short sleeves, in tended to cover the upper part of the body reaching down to below the waist, of a fancy design and is manufactured from a single coloured fabric.  It has a rounded neckline without an opening and a series of decorative pleats made by stitching on the front (see photograph no. 435) (*)

5.   Lightweight, sleeveless woven garment (100% artificial fibres) intended to cover the upper part of the body reaching down to below the waist, of a fancy design and is manufactured from a single coloured fabric.  It has a rounded neckline without an opening and has two side vents at the base (see photograph no. 434) (*)
