(NAR) VOL. III NO. 1 / JANUARY - MARCH 1992

[ POEA MEMORANDUM CIRCULAR NO. 02, January 06, 1992 ]

TRANSPORTATION OF OCWS PARTICULARLY HOUSEHOLD WORKERS (MAID SERVANTS, GOVERNESSES, DRIVERS, ETC.,) TO THE KINGDOM OF SAUDI ARABIA

This Administration received an advice from the Saudi Arabian Airlines that the Ministry of Defense and Aviation of Saudi Arabia has issued a circular instructing all airlines operating inside the Kingdom that passengers without confirmed reservations up to their employer's destination (domestic flight within Saudi Arabia) should not be transported.  In case there will still be incoming passengers/OCWs whose employers cannot be located, they will be handed over to the immigration authorities in the airport's arrival area.

In this connection, all agencies and entities concerned are required to ensure that all reservations of their departing OCWs are confirmed and that the workers carry their employer's complete address and telephone numbers, to avoid getting stranded at the airport and/or be exposed to harassment thereat.

For strict compliance.
