VOLUNTARY COVERAGE OF SEAFARERS TO PAG-IBIG FUND
In accordance with an advice from the Home Development Mutual Fund, all manning agencies are hereby informed that coverage of Filipino seafarers by the PAG-IBIG Fund is on a voluntary basis, considering that their coverage by the Social Security System was by reason of a voluntary covenant between SSS and the Department of Labor and Employment.
Nevertheless, foreign principals and local manning agencies who wish to avail of the coverage by PAG-IBIG for their seafarers may do so.
