[ BAI MEMORANDUM ORDER NO. 27, S. 2004, September 03, 2004 ]
DELEGATION OF AUTHORITY TO APPROVE THE VETERINARY QUARANTINE CLEARANCE TO IMPORT HORSES AND CATTLE
WHEREAS, pursuant to existing laws, orders and rules and regulations, the Secretary of Agriculture is mandated to approve Veterinary Quarantine Clearance (VQC) to Import horses and cattle;
WHEREAS, in the interest of public service, there is a need to streamline the processing period of permits being issued by the government agencies by way of reducing the number of signatories;
WHEREAS, the Bureau of Animal Industry (BAI) is mandated to regulate the importation of horses and cattle;
NOW, THEREFORE, I, ARTHUR C. YAP, Secretary of Agriculture do hereby issue this Order authorizing the Director of BAI to approve the VQC to import horses and cattle.
Any provisions or portion of any Order inconsistent herewith are hereby revoked, repealed and/or modified.
This Order shall take effect immediately and remain in full force until revoked.
