PHASEOUT OF OLD MODEL/DILAPIDATED TAXIS



In the interest of public service and pursuant to the directive of the Honorable Secretary of DOTC in his Department Order No. 92-668 dated 08 December 1992, the following orders are hereby issued:

1.      All taxi units shall be subjected to stringent inspection procedures at the MVIS before renewal at the Pilot District Office.

2.      Taxi operators shall be advised to repair or restore their dilapidated taxis to safety and convenient standards, otherwise, these will be impounded and their franchises recommended for suspension/cancellation by the LTFRB.

3.     Beginning 1 February 1994, all dilapidated taxis shall be impounded and penalized accordingly.

MV Inspectors, OICs of the MIVS and other employees and officials negligent or involved in the inspection and registration of dilapidated taxis will be administratively dealt with for violation of existing rules and regulations.
