[ SRA SUGAR ORDER NO. 1-A, s. 1993-1994, January 18, 1994 ]

REVISED SUGAR POLICY FOR CY 1993-1994



WHEREAS, field survey reports on the extent of the damage to sugarcane crops and sugar stocks wrought by Typhoon “Puring” which passed through Negros and Panay on December 26, 1993 have been collated by the SRA;

WHEREAS, current domestic sugar consumption figures indicate an upward trend for the crop year 1993-1994;

WHEREAS, in view of the foregoing factors and in the national interest, there is a need to increase the reserve sugar stock;

NOW, THEREFORE, under and by virtue of the powers vested in the Sugar Regulatory Administration, it is hereby ordered:

SECTION 1.       The percentage allocations for the various classes of sugar under Section 1 of Sugar order No. 1, Series of 1993-1994, dated August 25, 1993, are hereby revised.

All sugar production for the Crop Year 1993-1994 beginning on January 17, 1994 shall be issued weekly quedan-permits by mill companies in the following classifications and percentages:

“A” or US Quota sugar - 5.00%
“B” or Domestic sugar - 45.00%
“C” or Reserve sugar - 32.00%
“D” or World Market sugar - 18.00%

SECTION 2.      All other provisions of the aforesaid Sugar Order No. 1, Series of 1993-1994, shall remain in full force and effect.
