[ LTFRB MEMORANDUM CIRCULAR NO. 91-014, November 21, 1991 ]

ALLOWING PUBLIC UTILITY JEEPNEYS TO PLY OUT OF LINE EMERGENCY AND PERSONAL USE OF THE OPERATOR'S IMMEDIATE FAMILY



In view of the representations made with this Board by various operators of public utility jeepneys (PUJ), the said jeepneys are hereby allowed to operate out of line without securing from this Board the necessary permit to operate out of line, provided the purpose of the out-of-line trip is emergency in nature and/or the said vehicle is availed of for the personal use of the immediate family of the operator, provided that whenever the unit is utilized for personal use the operator and/or spouse, a parent, or direct descendant is physically present inside the vehicle during the trip, and provided further that a sign marked "FOR FAMILY USE" is conspicuously displayed for the duration of the trip.

All Memoranda and Orders inconsistent herewith are deemed amended and/or superseded.

This Memorandum Circular takes effect immediately.
