AGENCIES DIRECTED TO EXTEND FULL SUPPORT AND COOPERATION IN THE IMPLEMENTATION OF THE REQUISITE TRAINING PROGRAM AND DEPLOYMENT FACILITATION AS EMBODIED IN THE 2004 PHILIPPINE-KOREA MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING ON THE HIRING OF FILIPINO WORKERS



In order to ensure the effective implementation of the Korean Employment Permit System for Filipino workers, the following agencies are hereby directed to extend its full support and cooperation in the implementation of the requisite training program and deployment facilitation as embodied in the 2004 Philippine-Korea Memorandum of Understanding on the hiring of Filipino workers.

The Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA) shall have overall supervision of the program and shall provide the preliminary training and general orientation, which shall include information on the Korean culture, contract processing and documentation of the selected workers;

The Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) shall provide the training venues, lectures and resource persons for the administration of the language and skills-specific training program.  Likewise, TESDA shall issue the corresponding certificate of completion for the 150 mandatory training hours of the selected workers;

The Occupational Safety and Health Center (OSHC) shall provide the health and occupational safety training course to the selected workers;

The Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) shall provide the facility for the pre-departure loan to selected workers subject to the existing requirements of the program.

Cost of training and other administrative charges applying to any of the above services shall be charged by the respective agencies directly from the workers, subject to the issuance of corresponding receipts.

This order takes effect immediately.
