[ POEA MEMORANDUM CIRCULAR NO. 13, S. 1986, July 15, 1986 ]

DEPLOYMENT OF WORKERS FOR ANGOLA

In view of recent developments in Angola and upon recommendation of Philippine Honorary Consul C.R.G. Hellinger, deployment of Filipino contract workers to the following local areas in Angola, namely, the towns of Andrada, Lucapa and Camisombo, Luo, Luovuo, MD2 and MD5 is hereby temporarily suspended until further notice.

Deployment of workers to all other areas in Angola shall however be permitted but shall as such be considered as war risk areas. Accordingly, all contract workers bound for these areas shall be covered by the mandatory war risk insurance as defined in Section 2, Rule VI, Book VII of the Rules and Regulations Governing Overseas Employment.

Further to this, it shall be the responsibility of all agencies deploying workers for Angola to disseminate above informations to all concerned during Pre-Departure Orientation Seminar (PDOS) in order that they may be properly forewarned and be made aware of the job risks involved.

This Circular shall take effect immediately.
