[ LTFRB MEMORANDUM CIRCULAR NO. 2000-004, March 06, 2000 ]

IMPLEMENTING GUIDELINES FOR TAXI UNITS FOR DEPARTMENT ORDER NO. 96-963

The Board hereby promulgates guidelines for taxi units with year model 1991 to 1994, to implement the Department Order No. 96-963, dated 31 July 1996, which was issued by the Department of Transportation and Communications.

Taking into account that taxi units with year model 1991-1994 are still within the age requirement as provided under the said Department Order, applications for extension of validity of Certificate of Public Convenience (CPC) using taxi units with year model 1991 to 1994 will now be accepted by the Board. As such, it will automatically expire when it reaches December 31 of the tenth of its year model, or more particularly described in the following scheme:

1991 year model taxi units will automatically expire on December 31, 2001.
1992 year model taxi units will automatically expire on December 31, 2002.
1993 year model taxi units will automatically expire on December 31, 2003.
1994 year model taxi units will automatically expire on December 31, 2004.

The scheme provided above will also be the guide for taxi units with year model 1995 and so on.

Provided, however, that in no case, taxi units with older year model be substituted to taxi units with newer year model.

This Memorandum Circular takes effect immediately.
