DISSEMINATION OF INFORMATION RE ANTI-SMUGGLING/ILLEGAL TRAFFIC OF PROHIBITED DRUGS MEASURES IN SAUDI ARABIA TO ALL DEPARTING OVERSEAS WORKERS THRU PDOS



On account of the increasing number of cases and offenses of contract workers in relation to smuggling and distribution of prohibited drugs, this Administration has been notified by the Royal Embassy of Saudi Arabia of the following stern punishment against those found guilty of these crimes:
"x x x (1) Those who are caught smuggling prohibited drugs, even on the first instance, will be executed as the Saudi Government feels that they cause great and irreparable damage to society in general and to the victimized individuals in particular.

(2) Those who are caught distributing/pushing prohibited drugs will be meted with the following:

a) First Offense — imprisonment and/or lashings or heavy fine or all of the three depending on judicial order.

b) Second Offense — Execution. x x x"
In this regard, all are enjoined to disseminate the above information thru PDOS.
