[ POEA MEMORANDUM CIRCULAR NO. 17, s. 1994, March 11, 1994 ]
MODIFIED EXIT PROCEDURES FOR DEPARTING BALIK-MANGGAGAWA
Consistent with the thrust of the Administration to continually adopt mechanisms to provide maximum protection to overseas contract workers, Memorandum Circular No. 77 (Series of 1989), particularly paragraph 4 (b), is hereby amended, to read as follows:
1. All balikmanggagawa who are scheduled for departure shall pass through the Labor Assistance Center (LAC) and shall present the LAC Copy and the Worker's Copy of the Overseas Employment Certificate (OEC) for validation;
2. The validated Worker's Copy of the OEC shall be presented by the departing balikmanggagawa to the immigration Officer for exit purposes.
This Circular shall take effect FIFTEEN (15) DAYS from the date of last publication in a newspaper of general circulation.
