(NAR) VOL. 11 NO.1 / JANUARY – MARCH 2000

[ PPA OPNS MEMO ORDER NO. 2-2000, February 16, 2000 ]

TEN PERCENT (10%) INTERIM INCREASE AND LIFTING OF THE SUSPENSION OF RO-RO RATES

The implementation of ro-ro handling charges under PPA Administrative Order No. 05-95, as amended by PPA Administrative Order No. 07-98 was suspended per Memorandum dated June 8, 1999. This suspension was applied only in ports operated by cargo handlers with expired contracts but were granted hold over permits with old handling charges for ro-ro cargoes covered by PMO issuances prior to the implementation of PPA Administrative Order No. 05 -95.

The above suspension is valid until the Philippine Chamber of Arrastre and Stevedoring Operators (PCASO) shall have submitted a formal study on their proposed rates and the same is approved by the PPA Board of Directors.

In view of the failure of PCASO to submit officially any study or proposal relative to ro-ro charges, the above suspension is hereby lifted.

The PPA Board approved ro-ro rates/charges under PPA Administrative Order No. 05-95, as amended by PPA Administrative Order No. 07-98, are hereby reimplemented plus 10% interim increase approved per PPA Board Resolution No. 2000-698. Thus the new prescribed ro-ro rates charges, are as follows:
