[ EXECUTIVE ORDER NO. 235, April 19, 1995 ]

AMENDING EXECUTIVE ORDER NO. 101, DATED JUNE 15, 1993, ENTITLED: "REVISING THE COMPENSATION PLAN OF THE FOREIGN SERVICE OF THE PHILIPPINES"



I, FIDEL V. RAMOS, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby order:

SECTION 1. Section 1.0 of Executive Order No. 101, dated June 15, 1993, is hereby amended, to include the following provision:

"1.6 Nobody shall suffer a reduction in the rate of overseas allowance received in the present post as a result of the new index for overseas allowance except in the case of assignment to another post."

SECTION 2. Section 1.2 of said Executive Order is hereby amended, to include the overseas allowance index of the following newly-opened post abroad:

SECTION 3. Section 2.2 of said Executive Order is hereby amended, to include the living quarters allowance index of the following newly-opened post abroad:

SECTION 4. Section 2.9 of said Executive Order is hereby amended, to read as follows:

"2.9. In lieu of commutable living quarters, allowances, payment of actual rental of quarters occupied by the head of post may be authorized, subject to availability of funds and as may be warranted by the housing situation in the post of assignment; Provided, however, that the same privilege may be authorized to foreign service personnel other than the head of post who are assigned in China, Vietnam, and Cuba where housing units are allocated only in compounds designated by the host government. Payment of the utilities and other related expenses shall, however, be for the personal account of the head of post or foreign service personnel concerned."

SECTION 5. This Order shall take effect immediately.
