EWD REQUIREMENT



Effective January 1996, no motor vehicle shall be registered e.g. new and renewals, without presentation of a pair of Early Warning Devices (EWD) in accordance with LOl 229 and Administrative Order No. 1 series of 1973.

EWDs shall conform with the technical specifications. However, no accreditation of manufacturers is necessary. A free market policy is encouraged provided the substance and spirit of the law are complied in the interest of public safety. Employees are strictly prohibited from getting involved either directly or indirectly in the manufacture, distribution and sale of EWDs to the public.

All motor vehicles left unattended on the travelled portion of the highway without a pair of early warning devices properly installed to warn other motorist shall be apprehended and penalized accordingly.

For immediate implementation and strict compliance by all concerned.
