[ MTC MEMORANDUM CIRCULAR NO. 2, S. 2000, March 10, 2000 ]

ADDITIONAL COURSES AND QUALIFICATION STANDARDS FOR SUPERVISORS, INSTRUCTORS AND ASSESSORS FOR INCLUSION TO ANNEXES 1 AND 2 OF MTC RESOLUTION NO. 02, SERIES OF 1998; AND CLARIFICATIONS THERETO



A.        Additional Courses/Qualification Standards for Supervisors, Instructors and Assessors:

1.      Pursuant to MTC Resolution No. 04, Series of 1999, the attached list (available at ONAR upon request) of courses/programs and the Qualification Standards for Supervisors, Instructors and Assessors are hereby added to Annexes 1 and 2 respectively, of the MTC Resolution No. 03. Series of 1998.

2.      Only training programs listed in the above Annexes shall be accredited by the MTC.

B.        Clarifications to Annexes of Resolution No. 03, Series of 1998:

The following clarifications in the Annexes of Resolution No. 03, Series of 1998 are hereby made to effect the correction as indicated:

1.         Item No. 20, page 34, Annex 2:

•        Abbreviated Course Title “ROC” to read “ROP”
•        Instructors should be at least a Chief Petty Officer (CPO) or a Line Naval Officer or a 3rd Mate with 2 years seagoing experience and working knowledge of radar equipment

2.         Item No. 25, page 21, Annex 1:

•        40 hours to read 27 hours for marpol 73/78 Annex 1

3.         Items Nos. 8 and 11, pages 18 and 30 of Annex 1 and 2 respectively:

•        Shore-based Fire Fighting for General Tanker Familiarization to read Shore-based Fire Fighting

Memorandum Circular No. 06, Series of 1999 (Errata to Annex 2 of Resolution No. 03, Series of 1998) and other issuances which are in conflict with the provisions stated herein are hereby superceded and/or modified accordingly.

This Memorandum Circular shall take effect immediately.
