CLARIFICATION ON MEMORANDUM CIRCULAR NUMBER 09-00



On March 27, 2000, the Board issued Memorandum Circular No. 2000-009 regarding the issuance of Provisional Authorities to taxi operators who failed to comply with the Memorandum Circular on uniform color scheme.

Accordingly, for purposes of clarification, the Board hereby deletes the portion which reads:

“However, as such, only provisional authorities will be granted and it will only be for a period of one (1) year counted from the date of the issuance of the decision. After the expiration of the said one year period, no extension of validity of Certificates of Public Convenience shall be issued, unless they comply with Memorandum Circular No. 2000-002.

and instead, the same should read as follows:

“Taxi and Mega operators are hereby directed to file a Petition for Provisional Authority, if the same is not included  in their application for extension of validity and to pay the corresponding fees and charges.

The Provisional Authority shall be issued by the Board for a period of ONE (1) YEAR counted from the date of expiration of the original decision. During the said period, the operator shall submit to the Legal Division proof of compliance regarding the painting of the taxicab unit/s. Thereafter, the corresponding Certificate of Public Convenience shall be issued by the Board.”

This Memorandum Circular shall take effect immediately.
