(NAR) VOL. 6 NO. 2 / APRIL - JUNE 1995

[ LTO MEMORANDUM, April 04, 1995 ]

INDICATION OF DRIVERS' LICENCE'S DATE OF ISSUANCE

In view of the issuance of Memorandum Circular No. 86-002 dated 26 March 1986 which states that "Official Receipt of Payment becomes immaterial upon the release of the License Card", the LTO-Baguio City Agency, suggested to indicate the date of issuance of the drivers' license in small numbers at the bottom of the signature of the licensee in the scan card as shown in the attached sample*. The suggestion was found to be very useful and meritorious on the following reasons:
  1. Waiting time on the part of the licensee will be shortened when requesting for a duplicate Official Receipt (O.R.);

  2. apprenticeship period of a new Non-Professional drivers' license converted to Professional drivers' license can easily be computed even if it was issued by other district/licensing offices;

  3. if a licensee querries on the expiration date of the drivers' license, the employees of the district/licensing offices can easily justify it even without the presence of the O.R.; and

  4. authenticity can easily be detected.

In this connection, you are hereby directed to do as suggested to ease out the workload of the office and minimize the waiting time of the clientele.

For strict compliance.

Adopted: 04 April 1995

Brig. Gen. AFP (Ret.)
