AMENDMENTS TO MOI NO. 010, SERIES OF 1994, REVISED GUIDELINES GOVERNING THE IMPLEMENTATION OF THE SKILLS FOR EMPLOYMENT SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM PHASE II (SESP II)



In response to the clamor of the supervisors of the Regional OWWA Units to relax the admission requirements with the end view of giving opportunity to deserving children of less fortunate and disadvantaged OFWs, the following sections of MOI No. 010, Series of 1994, are hereby amended:

1.         On Coverage, Section III

The program shall be made available to dependents of OFWs:

1.1    who belong to the top ten of the graduating class or whose general average is 85%; and

1.2    who belong to a family with an income not higher than the poverty threshold as determined by the National Economic and Development Authority.

2.         On Documentary Requirements, Section V

2.1    Death or permanent disability certificate of the OFW is deleted as a documentary requirement.

3.         On Selection

3.1    The Regional OWWA Units shall screen regional applications and indorse at least one qualified nominee to the Scholarship Committee.

4.         On Benefits

4.1    The allowance for books and school supplies is increased from P750.00 to P1,000.00.

4.2    The monthly allowance is increased from P500.00 to P1,500.00.

5.         Additional Provision

5.1    The unused portion of the educational plan awarded to the scholar who drops out or who fails to meet the requisites for the continuance of the scholarship shall be granted to qualified nominees from other RCUs.

These amendments shall take effect immediately.
