AMENDMENT TO MEMORANDUM CIRCULAR NO. 52, SERIES OF 1995 ON THE DEPLOYMENT OF FILIPINO DRIVERS TO THE KINGDOM OF SAUDI ARABIA AND OTHER MIDDLE EAST COUNTRIES



The following amendments to Memorandum Circular No. 52, Series of 1995 are hereby issued:

A. Section Ia on the insurance coverage of the drivers and the vehicles they drive should read as:
"Employment Contracts shall include the provision that the Filipino drivers shall be covered by accident insurance and the vehicles they drive to be covered by a comprehensive or Third Party liability (TPL) insurance.
B. Section Ib on the Affidavit of Undertaking from the agency and/or foreign employer should read and include the following provisions:
i) The insurance coverage so mentioned including the application for driver's license shall be facilitated and corresponding provisions/fees shall be paid by the employer.

ii) Meantime that the drivers are still securing their licenses, their salaries and allowances shall continuously be given to them from the time of their arrival at the jobsite.

iii) The employer shall pay the repatriation cost in case the driver fails the driver's test.
This circular shall take effect immediately.
