[ PRC BOARD OF NUTRITION AND DIETETICS RESOLUTION NO. 03, SERIES OF 1996, July 01, 1996 ]

AMENDING BOARD RESOLUTION NO. 03, SERIES OF 1994 AND ITS ANNEX “A”



In accordance with the policies and directives of the Professional Regulation Commission on licensure examinations, the Board promulgated on May 12, 1994 Resolution No. 03, entitled “PROMULGATION OF SYLLABI OF SUBJECTS IN THE NUTRITION AND DIETETICS LICENSURE EXAMINATIONS.

After closely scrutinizing the “whereas” clauses of the covering Resolution as well as the contents of the syllabi of subjects in the Nutritionist-Dietitians Licensure Examination appended to the Resolution as Annex “A”, the Board is convinced that there is an imperative need to introduce amendments to the covering Resolution as well as to Annex “A” appended to the Resolution to make up-to-date and specific the titles and sub-titles of the syllabi to attune it to the demands of the present.

WHEREFORE, the Board hereby RESOLVED to amend Res. No. 03, Series of 1994 and Annex “A” appended to the said Resolution as follows:

1.         On the third “whereas” clause of the covering Resolution, delete the word “Applied” from the subject “Applied and Public Health Nutrition” and in lieu thereof substitute the word “Community”.

2.         On page 2 of Annex “A” appended to the Resolution, Title “B”, delete the word “Applied” from the title and in lieu thereof substitute the word “Community”.

3.         On page 5 of the same Annex “A”, Title “B”, delete the word “Applied” from the title and in lieu thereof substitute the word “Community”.

4.         On page 8 of the same Annex “A”, on the sub-title “A.6” delete the period after the word “Practice” and add the following: “MEDICAL NUTRITION THERAPY, HEALTH PROMOTION AND DISEASE PREVENTION STRATEGIES”.

5.         On the same page, same Annex “A”, sub-title “A.7”, after the word “Settings” on the second line, add the following: “OR STUDENT EXPOSURE TO ACTUAL CLINICAL OR DIETARY PRACTICES”.

6.         On the same page, same Annex, Title “B”, delete the word “APPLIED” from the title and in lieu thereof substitute the word “COMMUNITY”.

7.         On the same page, same Annex, sub-title “C.4” before the word “FOOD”, add the words: “FUNDAMENTALS OF”.

8.         On page 10, same Annex, subtitle “A.5”, after the last line, place a dash (-) and add the following: “HEALTH PROMOTION AND DISEASE PREVENTION STRATEGIES”.

9.         On the same page, same Annex, last paragraph of sub-title “A.6”, on the second line, delete the figures within the parenthesis and in lieu thereof substitute the figures “2-3”.

10.       On the same page, same Annex, Title “B”, delete the word “Applied” from the title and in lieu thereof, substitute the word “Community”.

11.       On page 12, same Annex, sub-title “C.4” before the word “FOOD”, place the words “FUNDAMENTALS OF”.

12.       Delete everything on page 14 of the said Annex.

This Resolution shall, after its approval by the Commission, take effect after fifteen (15) days from its publication in the Official Gazette or any newspaper of general circulation, whichever is earlier.

The Revised Guidelines shall be used for purposes of licensure examination only after the lapse of six (6) months from the date of effectivity.

Let copies of this Resolution be furnished the Deans of schools, colleges and universities, public and private, offering course/s in Nutrition and Dietetics as well as the Presidents of the Accredited Professional Organization of Registered Nutritionist-Dietitians and the non-Accredited Professional Organizations for dissemination to concerned individuals and/or sectors.
