PRESCRIBING THE PASSING GENERAL AVERAGE RATING OF AN EXAMINEE IN THE LICENSURE EXAMINATION FOR PROFESSIONAL TEACHERS



R.A. No. 7836, otherwise known as the “Philippine Teachers Professionalization Act of 1994”, does not provide for the passing general average rating of an examinee in the Licensure Examination for Teachers.

Section 6 (g) of P.D. No. 223, as amended, (the Decree creating the Professional Regulation Commission) provides that subject to the approval of the Commission, Professional Regulatory Boards (in this case, the Board for Professional Teachers) may determine the appropriate passing general rating if not provided for in the law regulating the profession.

WHEREFORE, the Board, subject to the approval of the Commission, hereby adopts and promulgates the rule that to pass the Licensure Examination for Professional Teachers, an examinee must obtain a general average rating of at least seventy five (75%) percent, with no rating below fifty percent (50%) in any subject.

This rule shall be applicable starting in the August, 1996 Licensure Examination for Professional Teachers.

This resolution shall be effective after fifteen (15) days from its publication in the Official Gazette or any newspaper of general circulation, whichever comes earlier.
