[ SRA SUGAR ORDER NO. 5-A, December 26, 1996 ]

AMENDMENT TO SUGAR ORDER NO. 5, SERIES OF 1996-1997, DATED 04 NOVEMBER 1996, RE: DEFERMENT OF THE ARRIVAL OF THE IMPORTED SUGAR UNDER THE COUNTERTRADE SUGAR SWAP PROGRAM.

WHEREAS, the negotiation for the importation of 12, 525 M.T. of sugar under the Countertrade Sugar Swap Program has already been closed prior to the issuance of Sugar Order No. 5, Series of 1996-1997, dated 04 November 1996, and the arrival of said importation is expected before May or June, 1997;

WHEREAS, there is a need to amend Section 1 of the aforesaid Sugar Order No. 5, Series of 1996-1997, dated 04 November 1996;

NOW, THEREFORE, under and by virtue of the authority vested in the Sugar Regulatory Administration (SRA), it is hereby ordered that :

SECTION 1.       Section 1 of the Sugar Order No. 5, Series of 1996-1997, dated 04 November 1996, is hereby amended to read as follows:

“Section 1.    The Philippine International Trading Corporation (PITC), the government agency concerned in the importation of sugar from the world market under the Countertrade Sugar Swap Program (CSSP), shall defer the arrival of some 24,512 M.T. of raw sugar the balance in the said CSSP importation, until May or June, 1997.”

SECTION 2.       This Sugar Order shall take effect immediately.

SECTION 3.       Other provisions of Sugar Order No. 5, Series of 1996-1997, dated 04 November 1996, shall remain in  full  force and effect.

SECTION 4.       Provisions of Sugar Orders, Circular Letters, and/or other rules and regulations contrary to or inconsistent with this Sugar Order, are hereby amended, modified or revoked accordingly.
