ADOPTION OF GENERAL TANKER FAMILIARIZATION UNDER THE REVISED IMO MODEL COURSE 1.01
Pursuant to Section 3.0 of MTC Resolution No. 03, Series of 1998, the following implementing instructions and clarifications are hereby issued.
1. Effective 01 February 2002, the training standard in the application for accreditation of the course in General Tanker Familiarization (GTF) shall be in accordance with the Revised IMO Model Course 1.01;
2. Training centers whose GTF has been issued provisional authority or accredited in accordance with the prescribed training standard under MTC Course Program No. 97-003 may continue to conduct training under such standard until the expiry of such authority or accreditation.
3. The same training centers are given the option to implement the Revised IMO Model Course 1.01 before the expiry of its authority or accreditation provided that they give notice to the MTC Secretariat regarding the adjustments it has taken to conform to the requirements of the IMO Model Course.
