[ DA MEMORANDUM ORDER NO. 09, S. 2000, August 16, 2000 ]

TEMPORARY BAN ON THE IMPORTATION OF DOMESTIC AND WILD BIRDS; DAY-OLD CHICKS, TURKEY POULTS AND OTHER NEWLY HATCHED AVIAN SPECIES; HATCHING EGGS, SEMEN OF DOMESTIC AND WILD BIRDS; AND FRESH MEAT OF DOMESTIC AND WILD BIRDS ORIGINATING FROM BRAZIL



Based on the Office International des Epizooties (OIE) disease situation report confirming an outbreak of Newcastle Disease in Brazil, a temporary ban on the importation of the following products is hereby imposed.

1.    domestic and wild birds;
2.    day-old chicks, turkey poults and other newly-hatched avian species;
3.    hatching eggs;
4.    semen of domestic and wild birds; and
5.    fresh meat of domestic and wild birds.

This Order shall take effect immediately.
