APPROVAL OF CHEJU ISLAND, SOUTH KOREA - RESUME EXPORTATION OF LIVE ANIMALS, MEATS, MEAT PRODUCTS AND BY-PRODUCTS TO THE PHILIPPINES
The Republic of Korea, through the Ministry of Agriculture and
Forestry, has established Cheju Island as an FMD-Free Zone based on the
following technical qualifications:
¨ Cheju Island is very well isolated by sea from the South Korean mainland;
¨ No FMD outbreak in the island province;
¨ Has effective Provincial Quarantine Service Program to maintain FMD-free zone status; and
¨ OIE recognizes the FMD-free status of the island province.
Based on the above technical declaration, I hereby approve the resumption of exportation from Cheju Island, South Korea of live breeding animals, meats, meat products and by-products to the Philippines.
This Order shall amend Memorandum Order No. 4, and take effect immediately.
