PRESCRIBING RULES TO GOVERN CLIENTS IN RESIDENTIAL TREATMENT AND REHABILITATION CENTERS FOR DRUG DEPENDENTS



Pursuant to paragraph one of Section 30, Article VI and Section 36(a), Article VIII of Republic Act 6425 as amended, the following rules are hereby prescribed for clients in residential treatment and rehabilitation centers for drug dependents:

(a)     The resident clients shall follow all rules and regulations laid down by the center.

(b)     The resident clients shall join in all activities planned for them by the center.

(c)     The clients, members of the staff, and visitors shall not be allowed alcoholic drinks.

(d)     No resident client who is not a voluntary submission case shall be discharged from the center unless certified rehabilitated by the proper center staff and the Dangerous Drugs Board.

(e)     In cases of escapes or abscondence by voluntary submission cases, the provisions in the 4th and 5th paragraphs of Section 30 of R.A. 6425, as amended, shall apply.  Should the client escape for the third time, the center shall inform the Board of the same within twenty-four (24) hours and the Board shall then charge the escapee in the proper court with violation of Section 8 Article II or Section 16, Article III of the Act, as the case may be.

(f)      If a compulsory submission case escapes, the center shall make a written report to the proper court within twenty-four (24) hours, furnishing the Board a copy thereof.

This regulation shall take effect immediately.
