[ PPA MEMORANDUM CIRCULAR NO. 23-2004, July 16, 2004 ]

EXPANDING THE COVERAGE OF PPA MEMORANDUM CIRCULAR NO. 17-2003: APPLICABLE RO-RO TARIFF RATES FOR THE SRNH, TO OTHER PPA PORTS WHERE RO-RO OPERATIONS ARE CARRIED OUT



In conformity with commitments made during the Strong Republic Nautical Highway (SRNH) Conference, held last 22 October 2003 at the EDSA Shangri-La Hotel, and in order to expand the benefits and encourage greater use of the SRNH thus serving as an effective engine for economic growth, the use of the SRNH RO-RO tariff under PPA MC No. 17-2003 (copy attached)*, is hereby authorized for all other PPA RO-RO ferry ports where RO-RO operations are carried out.

To avoid any confusion in the use and implementation of the SRNH RO-RO Tariff, the RO-RO operation must meet both the following requisites:

1.   The RO-RO vehicle must be self-propelled; and

2.   The RO-RO vehicle must be self-driven by its Owner or Driver without control over the RO-RO vehicle being surrendered to any other party.

This Memorandum Circular shall remain in full force and effect unless otherwise amended or revoked by competent authority.

This Memorandum Circular shall be published once in two (2) newspapers of general circulation and shall take effect 15 days from the date of its publication.
