VALIDITY REQUIREMENT ON PHILIPPINE PASSPORT FOR OVERSEAS FILIPINO (OFWS) BOUND FOR MIDDLE EAST AND AFRICAN COUNTRIES WHERE NO PHILIPPINE MISSION IS PRESENT
Upon the recommendation of the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA), all OFWs due for deployment in the Middle Eastern or African countries where there are no resident Philippine Embassies, should obtain their respective Philippine passports valid for at least two years or six months beyond the duration of their employment contracts whichever is longer to avoid unnecessary inconveniences in the renewal of their passports.
All OFWs bound for the following countries with no resident Philippine embassies should comply with this requirement as a pre requisite to processing and issuance of Overseas Employment Certificate (OEC):
