AMENDMENTS TO MOI NO. 19, SERIES OF 1998, IMPLEMENTING GUIDELINES FOR THE DECENTRALIZATION OF THE SKILLS-FOR-EMPLOYMENT SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM (SESP)



To ensure the efficient implementation of the Skills-for-Employment Scholarship Program (SESP) nationwide, the following sections of MOI No. 19, series of 1998 are hereby amended:

1.         Entitlement

Overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) who are bonafide members of OWWA or any one of their qualified beneficiaries who are at least high school graduate, and who pass the oral and written examinations administered by OWWA or its designated training/testing centers/schools shall be entitled to avail of the program.

Beneficiaries as used herein shall be limited to spouse and children of married OFWs, brother/sister not more than twenty-one (21) years of age of unmarried OFWs.

Entitlement to the program is only once per OFW.

2.         Payment of Allowances

The monthly allowance shall be given outright to the scholars upon submission of the confirmation slip from the training center for the first month of training. The subsequent releases of the monthly allowance shall be based on the good standing/performance of the scholar subject to confirmation of the Supervisor of the Regional OWWA Unit (ROU) and Head of Manpower Development Division (MDD) for NCR.

These amendments shall form part of MOI No. 19 and shall take effect immediately.
