BOARD OF DENTISTRY

COMPUTERIZED PROCESSING OF THE CORRECTION AND RATING OF DENTISTS LICENSURE EXAMINATION PAPERS

WHEREAS the procedures on the correction and rating of test papers of Dentists Licensure Examination that the Board observes are those set forth in Sections 23 to 26, Article III of the "Rules and Regulations Governing the Regulation and Practice of Professionals";

WHEREAS the Board deems it appropriately sound and expedient to adopt the modern system or process of correcting and grading the test papers through the utilization of computers which the Commission has made available; and

WHEREAS the adoption thereof will foster, to wit:
1) abridgement of the correction and rating period - paving the way for early release of the results; and

2) accuracy in the correction and rating - preventing irregularities and, thus, enhancing the public trust in the integrity, confidentiality, credibility, and sanctity of the examination which the Commission and the Board are sworn to uphold and preserve,
WHEREFORE, the Board hereby resolves to adopt and implement the computerized processing of the correction and rating of test papers starting with the May 1992 Dentist Licensure Examination and in the subsequent examinations.

The herein resolution shall, after approval thereof by the Commission, take effect after fifteen (15) days following the completion of the publication thereof in the Official Gazette or in any newspapers of general circulation.
