SUSPENDING THE GRANT OF CONDITIONALLY-FREE IMPORTATION ON ALL LUXURY VEHICLES



Attached herewith is the Memorandum* dated April 13, 1999 of the Hon. Secretary of Finance, EDGARDO B. ESPIRITU to His Excellency PRESIDENT JOSEPH EJERCITO ESTRADA, inviting attention to the duly approved recommendation stated therein, to wit:
"In this connection, and pursuant to Section 105 of the Tariff and Customs Code, I respectfully recommend that His Excellency suspend the grant of conditional free importation on all luxury vehicles under Section 105 (g), (g-1), (h), (i), (l), and (q) of the Tariff and Customs Code for a period of six (6) months within which time, the Department of Finance upon the recommendation of the Bureau of Customs will come up with an amendment to Customs Administrative Order No. 7-72 dated November 26,1972."
