AMENDMENT TO BUREAU CIRCULAR NO. 8, S. 1998 "REGISTRATION OF IMPORTED FOOD PRODUCTS COVERED BY AN EXCLUSIVE DISTRIBUTORSHIP AGREEMENT AND SALE OR OFFER FOR SALE OF THE SAME PRODUCTS WHOSE REGISTRATION PAPERS ARE STILL IN-PROCESS
In line with recent changes in the system of product registration, Bureau Circular No. 8, s. 1998 is hereby amended to nullify provision number 2, which allows the sale and offer for sale of imported food products whose registration papers are already in-process at the BFAD. Provision number 1, which allows the registration of imported food products regardless of whether or not the same is covered by an exclusive distributorship agreement, shall be retained.
Thus, all imported products are hereby required to satisfactorily comply with the requirements for registration as specified in Bureau Order No. 163, s. 1997 and be validly registered after passing BFAD criteria of safety and quality before they are sold or offered for sale in the local market.
This Order shall take effect immediately.
