[ BFAD MEMORANDUM CIRCULAR NO. 14, November 02, 1990 ]

SUBMISSION OF THE FIRST AND LAST BATCH NUMBER OF PRODUCTS COMPLYING WITH GENERIC LABELLING REQUIREMENTS AND USING THE OLD LABELS RESPECTIVELY



The use of generic labels in multi-active ingredients drug products was mandated to start on August 16, 1990 per Administrative Order No. 93 s. 1990.  In connection therewith, all drug manufacturers and traders are required to submit the first batch number of their products produced after August 16, 1990 in compliance with the generic labelling requirement, as well as the last batch number of those produced prior to or before August 16, 1989 bearing the old labels.

Address the submission to this Office, attention: Regulation Division II, for recording purposes within ten (10) days from receipt.

Further, drug manufacturers and traders are reminded that the old labels not complying with the labelling requirements provided under Administrative Order No. 85 s. 1990 shall be subject to seizure after November 15, 1990.
