[ BOC CUSTOMS MEMORANDUM ORDER NO. 32-2004, October 26, 2004 ]

STRICT IMPLEMENTATION OF MANDATORY BPS CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENT



As part of the general effort to monitor the quality of imported products, as contained in CMC No. 102-88 regarding BOC and BPS Memorandum of Agreement on the Joint Procedures for the Monitoring and Inspection of Imported Products covered by Mandatory Philippine Standards and CMC 262-2004 covering the List of Products Under Mandatory BPS Certification, the following is hereby directed:

1. All District Collectors/Deputy Collectors for Assessment of the various collection districts shall require the submission of Mandatory BPS Certification of Products listed under the Mandatory BPS Product Certification, for shipments covered thereby.

2. Failure to observe such requirement shall render the concerned BOC personnel liable to the proper administrative sanction/s.

All other orders, memoranda, circulars, or part or parts thereof, which are inconsistent herewith are deemed repealed and/or modified accordingly.

This Order shall take effect immediately upon signing hereof.
