Guidelines on Registration and Licensing of Tv Stations, Networks, Blocktimers, Cable Tv Operators



Pertinent to VRB Memorandum Circular No. 09-87 dated 14 August 1987, following are the VRB’s guidelines on the registration and licensing of TV Stations, Networks, Blocktimers, Cable TV Operators, and other similar establishments, and the revised schedule of fees for the issuance of commercial permits for films in videogram form insofar as said establishments are concerned.

1. Registration and Licensing – All TV Stations, Networks, Blocktimers, Cable TV Operators and other similar establishments engaged in the act or business of commercial production, distribution, reproduction, selling or exhibition of any cinematographic art or work, performance or event, using videogram as a medium, shall register with and be licensed by the Videogram Regulatory Board as distributors. This shall mean a one-time registration fee of P500.00 and an annual license fee of P500.00 for each distributor.

2. Issuance of Special Commercial Permits – A registered distributor shall likewise register his/its rights, original or acquired, to his/its film in videogram form with the VRB, submitting to the Board authenticated documents showing proof of ownership or rights to said film.  The Board shall issue a Special Commercial Permit for the videogram whenever so justified.  Such special Commercial Permit shall be a pre-requisite to the review and classification by the MTRCB of said film in videogram form.

The verification fee shall be as follows:

10.00/title processing fee
 

This circular shall take effect on 15 January 1988.
