INFORMATION ON COUNTERFEIT PHARMACEUTICAL PRODUCTS



The National Bureau of Investigation has apprehended and taken custody of fake pharmaceutical products namely:

a. Ceftazidime (anti-bacterial)
b. Penbritin (Ampicillin Sodium)
c. Streptomycin Sulfate
d. Ampicillin (Sodium) white label
e. Ampicillin (250mg) green color (liquid) white seal
f.  Ampicillin Sodium
g. Chloramphenicol (Sodium Succinate)
h. Isotonic Sodium Chloride (50ml)
i.  Mallinckrodt (Conray) 100 ml
j.  Hollister 3279 (1 3/4)
k  Disposable Barium Enema

Food and Drug Regulation Officers are therefore advised to monitor the presence of these fake drug products in all drug outlets.  they are instructed to seal all these suspicious drug products which are not covered by legitimate invoices from their distributors.

Likewise, all drug outlets are warned to purchase the drug products for sale only from legitimate sources and to comply with the regulation that all these products should be covered by legitimate invoices on which the lot number and expiry date are correctly indicated.
