[ POEA MEMORANDUM CIRCULAR NO. 27, SERIES OF 1996, July 01, 1996 ]

BOARDING CERTIFICATE REQUIREMENT FOR TAIWAN DEPLOYMENT

In order to streamline the procedures and facilitate the processing of documents for a new worker hired to replace the original worker whose two year contract has expired, the following procedures are being issued:

1. A duly notarized Affidavit of Undertaking (sample form attached*) executed by the employer shall be submitted to the MECO Labor Center as a requirement for verification. The undertaking shall guarantee that only workers assured with visas shall be processed at POEA.

The previous requirement for a boarding certificate is now rescinded.

2. Existing requirements for processing at POEA shall apply but the Overseas Employment Certificates (OECs) for such workers shall only be released upon presentation to POEA of the worker's visa stamped in his/her passport.

For strict compliance effective 1 July 1996.

Adopted: 1 July 1996
