[ POEA MEMORANDUM CIRCULAR NO. 24, June 03, 1996 ]

CLARIFICATION ON THE IMPLEMENTATION OF SECTION 20, RULE II, BOOK II OF THE REVISED RULES AND REGULATIONS GOVERNING OVERSEAS EMPLOYMENT

Section 20, Rule II, Book II of the Revised Rules and Regulations Governing Overseas Employment states that, "any agency which fails to obtain a renewal of its license within thirty (30) calendar days from expiration thereof, shall be immediately deemed delisted and disallowed from conducting recruitment and placement."

The above provision is hereby clarified to mean that the application for renewal of license must be filed on or before the expiration date of the license to be renewed. The license holder should likewise fully comply with all the documentary requirements for the renewal of its license within thirty (30) calendar days from expiration thereof.

Failure of the agency to file its application for renewal on or before the expiry date and/or comply with the renewal requirements within the thirty day grace period shall mean its automatic delisting from the roster of licensed agencies.

This Circular takes effect immediately.
