AMENDMENT TO THE RULE ON SECTION 32.0 (B-2) - HELMET AND WHIP IN THE WEIGH-IN AND WEIGH-OUT OF JOCKEYS



Please be informed that the PHILRACOM Board in its meeting held on October 13, 2000 resolved to amend Section 32.0 (b-2) of the Horseracing Rules and Regulations, as requested by the Jockey’s Association, in accordance with the use of helmet, whip, and the number cloth in the weigh-in and weigh-out of jockeys, to wit:

HELMET AND WHIP IN THE WEIGH-IN AND WEIGH-OUT OF JOCKEYS:

In the weigh-in and weigh-out of jockeys, the HELMET and WHIP shall be INCLUDED if the required handicap weight of the jockey is 54 kgs. or above. But if the handicap weight required is below 54 kgs., the HELMET and WHIP shall be EXCLUDED. (BR 01-15-96).

Amending SECTION 32.0 (b-2), will now read as follows:

HELMET AND WHIP IN THE WEIGH-IN AND WEIGH-OUT OF JOCKEYS:

In the weigh-in and weigh-out of jockeys, the HELMET, the WHIP, and the NUMBER CLOTH shall be EXCLUDED regardless of the prescribed handicap weight.  The weight allowance of 1.5 kgs. shall be strictly observed.

This rule shall take effect fifteen (15) days after publication.
