FULL IMPLEMENTATION OF THE INTERNATIONAL SAFETY MANAGEMENT (ISM) CODE BY 01 JULY 2002



Pursuant to MARINA Memorandum Circular No. 122 and in view of the mandatory implementation of the International Maritime Organization (IMO) Resolution A.741(18) and A.880(21), Chapter IX of the International Convention for the Safety of Life at Sea (SOLAS), as amended concerning International Management Code for the Safe Operation of Ships and for Pollution Prevention (ISM Code), all concerned are hereby reminded of the full implementation of the ISM Code in the Philippines specifically with respect to other cargo ships and mobile offshore drilling units of 500 gross tonnage and above by 01 July 2002.

Therefore, all concerned companies are advised to take appropriate action and to comply with the requirements of the Code on the captioned implementation date.
