[ SRA CIRCULAR LETTER NO. 41, April 25, 1990 ]

CONFED DUES AND SUGAR DEVELOPMENT FOUNDATION, INC. FUND AS LIENS ON SUGAR QUEDANS



WHEREAS, in a joint meeting on March 9, 1990, the Board of Trustees and association representatives of CONFED, Negros-Panay Chapter, adopted a resolution, and made an integral part hereof requesting the Sugar Regulatory Administration (SRA) to extend the authority of the mill companies to impose the liens enumerated in SRA Sugar Order No. 8, Series 1987-1988, dated July 4, 1988 and SRA Circular Letter No. 39 (Amended);

WHEREAS, it is in the national interest that these voluntary contributions be liened on the sugar quedans of said producers;

NOW, THEREFORE by virtues of the authority vested in the Sugar Regulatory Administration, it is hereby ordered that:

SECTION 1.       The mill company concerned is hereby authorized to impose and collect the following items on the sugar quedans of members of CONFED-affiliated associations for their production beginning April 1, 1990:

(a)     P0.50 per picul as CONFED dues the imposition and collection of which shall continue for as long as the individual associations remain as member of CONFED and the collections shall be remitted to CONFED; and

(b)     P4.50 per picul to be remitted to the CONFED in trust and to be remitted by it to the Sugar Foundation, Inc. (SDFI) upon conformity of the planters associations and sugar associations concerned, and the collection and remittance to continue up to the end of crop year 1990-1991.

SECTION 2.       This Circular Letter covers the sugar production of members of the following associations:

(a)   Associacion de Agricultures de la Carlota y Pontevedra, Inc.

(b)   Associacion de Hacenderos de Silay-Saravia , Inc.

(c)   Associated Planters of Silay-Saravia, Inc.

(d)   Central Lopez Planters Association, Inc.

(e)   Dacongcogon Producers Cooperative Marketing Association, Inc.

(f)    First Farmers Association

(g)   Ma-ao Farmers Association, Inc.

(h)   Ma-ao Sugarcane Planters Association

( i)    Nabinkalan Planters Association

(j)    Negros Consolidated Farmers Association

(k)   Planters Association of Southern Negros

(l)    Sonedco Planters Association

(m)  V M C Farmers Association

SECTION 3.       All provisions of Sugar Orders, Circular Letters, rules and regulations inconsistent with or contrary to this Order are hereby modified, amended or revoked accordingly.
