EARLY WARNING DEVICE (EWD) NOT A REQUIREMENT FOR REGISTRATION



Effective 14 July 1992, the presentation of Early Warning Device (EWD) to the District Office which is the venue of registration is no longer a condition for registration of motor vehicles. However, drivers apprehended for a traffic violation or who is involved in a vehicular accident and whose motor vehicle is found not equipped with a pair of EWD shall be fined P50.00. His driver's license and/or motor vehicle plates shall be confiscated or his motor vehicle impounded, and shall remain so, until he can present a pair of EWD that meets the specifications set by law, during the adjudication of the case.
