(NAR) VOL. 10 NO. 2 / APRIL - JUNE 1999

[ DECS ORDER NO. 35, S. 1999, April 12, 1999 ]

ACCEPTANCE OF TRANSFEREES FROM DECS-ACCREDITED PHILIPPINE SCHOOLS ABROAD

  1. Per DECS Order No. 26, s. 1994, public and private schools are authorized to evaluate the school records of transferees from foreign schools or Philippine schools abroad for purposes of placement in the appropriate grade or year level.

  2. It is expected that only those students transferring from Philippine schools abroad operating under DECS permit shall be accepted on equal terms as those students from the DECS-recognized schools in the country. The list of Philippine schools abroad operating under DECS permit is in the inclosure to this Order.

  3. It is reiterated that per DECS Order No. 19, s. 1996, transferees from non-DECS recognized Philippine schools must take a validating examination to be administered by the National Educational Testing and Research Center (NETRC), this Department, for grade/year level placement before they can be admitted in any school in the country.

  4. Immediate dissemination of and strict compliance with this Order is directed.
