AMENDING SECTION 4.2 OF THE REVISED GUIDELINES FOR THE ISSUANCE OF ALIEN EMPLOYMENT PERMIT(AEP)



In support to the UN Spouse Employment Policy, wherein in order to recruit and retain highly qualified staff members to carry out the UN Mission, host governments are urged to open up to their employment regulations to allow spouses of members of international organizations access to job opportunities at the post, Section 4.2 of the Revised Guidelines for the issuance of Alien Employment Permit (AEP) issued on 04 January 1988 is hereby amended as follows:
4. Exemption — The following categories of aliens are exempted from securing employment permit in order to work in the Philippines.

4.2 Members of international organizations and their legitimate spouses with which the Philippine Government is a cooperating member, e.g. Asian Development Bank (ADB), International Rice Research Institute (IRRI), and specialized agencies of the United Nations.
For purposes of monitoring, certificates of exemption of UN spouses to the Alien Employment Permit (AEP) shall be issued by the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) through the Bureau of Local Employment. Validity of exemption shall be co-terminus with the spouse employment in the said agencies.

This Order shall take effect immediately.
