OPENING THE ACCEPTANCE OF APPLICATION FOR TOURIST TRANSPORT SERVICE IN REGION III



Following the completion of the Subic-Clark-Tarlac Expressway, the refurbished Diosdado Macapagal International Airport in Clark Freeport Zone, the development of the seaport in Subic Freeport Zone, the world-class North Luzon Expressway, the start of construction of extension of the Subic-Clark-Tarlac Expressway up to the province of La Union of which the said infrastructures provide intra-regional and inter-regional gateways for tourism and business activities and opportunities vis-à-vis the thrust of the government for the continuous development of Central Luzon, the Board hereby opens Tourist Transport Services in Region III.

Applications to Operate Tourist Transport Service shall comply with the requirements and standards set forth under Memorandum Circular 2008-009, Re: SIMPLIFYING CLASSIFICATIONS OF TOURIST TRANSPORT SERVICES PURSUANT TO DEPT. ORDER NO. 97-1097, MEMORANDUM CIRCULAR NOS. 98-002, 2003-001, 2004-01, 2004-026, 2005-033, 2006-049, 2006-058 AND RELATED ISSUANCES TO OBVIATE CONFUSION AND MISAPPREHENSION OF THE KIND OF SERVICES PROVIDED AND THE UNITS TO BE AUTHORIZED dated May 13, 2008.

All issuances inconsistent herewith are hereby superseded and amended accordingly.

This Memorandum Circular shall take effect immediately.
