(NAR) VOL. 18 NO. 4/OCTOBER - DECEMBER 2007

[ BAI MEMORANDUM ORDER NO. 07, s. 2007, October 10, 2007 ]

REITERATION FOR STRICT IMPLEMENTATION OF THE DA ADMINISTRATIVE ORDER NO. 8, SERIES OF 2004 “GUIDELINES ON THE REGISTRATION AND LICENSING OF LIVESTOCK, POULTRY AND BY-PRODUCTS HANDLER’S LICENSE AND ACCREDITATION OF LIVESTOCK, POULTRY AND BY-PRODUCTS TRANSPORT CARRIERS”

The Department of Agriculture (DA) through the Bureau of Animal Industry (BAI) is now strictly implementing the Department of Agriculture (DA) Administrative Order No. 8, series of 2004, “GUIDELINES ON THE REGISTRATION AND LICENSING OF LIVESTOCK, POULTRY AND BY-PRODUCTS HANDLER’S LICENSE AND ACCREDITATION OF LIVESTOCK, POULTRY AND BY-PRODUCTS TRANSPORT CARRIERS”, requiring all dealers/viajeros engaged in selling, buying and transporting of livestock and poultry products and by-products to secure HANDLER’S LICENSE and ACCREDITATION OF TRANSPORT CARRIERS. These measures were initiated to ensure that the Foot and Mouth Disease eradication program will be more efficient and other communicable diseases that would affect the livestock and poultry industry will be eliminated.

In this regard, may we request your good office to require all livestock, poultry and by-products dealers/viajeros and their transport carriers (vehicles) to be LICENSED and ACCREDITED by the Bureau of Animal Industry through the Department of Agriculture Regional Field Units and the Office the Provincial Veterinarian.

Further, please be advised that “NO LICENSES/STICKER (accreditation), NO ENTRY” policy will be implemented inside the LIVESTOCK “OKSYON” MARKET premises.

Your compliance is hereby enjoined.

Adopted:  25 Oct. 2007
