ADDITIONAL TRAINING REQUIREMENT FOR PURPOSES OF REGISTRATION OF FILIPINO SEAFARERS
Pursuant to the Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping for Seafarers (STCW) of 1995 and in furtherance of this Administration's task as one of the implementing agencies in the administration of the Convention, the Personal Safety and Social Responsibility Course, in addition to the three (3) Basic Safety Courses for Seafarers (Medical Emergency - Basic Training, Basic Fire fighting and Personal Survival) is hereby required for purposes of registration of seafarers by this Administration.
This circular shall take effect on October 1, 1997 after publication in a newspaper of general circulation.
