RE-USE OF POLYETHYLENE BOTTLES FOR URINE COLLECTION IN DRUG TESTING



Pursuant to the powers vested in the Dangerous Drugs Board under Section 77 (a) of RA 9165, otherwise known as "The Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002", and as approved and adopted in the 61st Board Meeting last December 5, 2003, the following guidelines for the re-use of the polyethylene bottles for the collection of urine specimens for drug testing purposes are hereby allowed subject to the following conditions:

  1. The polyethylene bottles, before they can be used again, shall be properly inspected to ensure that there are no cracks or any form of damage;

  2. The said bottles shall be properly washed with soap and water and sterilized and properly dried;

  3. The polyethylene bottles with specimens that have been tested positive for dangerous drugs after confirmatory testing or those which previously contained positive specimens must not longer be re-used and should be immediately discarded.

This Regulation shall take effect fifteen (15) days after its publication in two (2) newspapers of general circulation and after registration with the Office of National Administrative Register (ONAR), UP Law Center, Quezon City.
